Academic integrity is the foundation of the learning process, and its implementation is ensured by the higher education institution. The core principles of academic integrity are:
ensuring academic integrity as a core institutional value that shapes honesty and mutual respect in academic work;
approving fair and objective academic integrity rules aimed at forming high ethical values;
ensuring a consistent and uninterrupted learning path for the student by defining a clear mechanism and procedure for transferring credits on the basis of verifiable transcripts from other educational institutions;
respect shown by the teacher towards students as a mentor who fosters academic culture;
encouraging and rewarding participants in the educational process for promoting and protecting academic integrity;
the teacher defining a clear course policy and the requirements expected of students;
the teacher defining a policy with clear criteria for assessing students' academic achievements;
taking measures for breaches of academic integrity principles in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
creating an academic environment that provides educational, social and psychological support to students and prevents academic dishonesty.

Academic integrity is the foundation of learning

The Academic Integrity Rules for students and staff of Esil University (П EsU 14-15) are in force in their fifth edition, approved by decision of the Academic Council on 28.04.2026 (minutes No. 10), and are binding on all university staff, faculty and students.

Principles (cl. 4.3)Eleven principles: good faith, honesty, responsibility, fairness and equality, respect, openness and transparency, objectivity, trust, ethical conduct, cooperation and integrity of principle.

Measures of responsibility (cl. 8.7, 9.1-9.2)The Academic Integrity and Ethics Committee qualifies the breach and issues a decision or a recommendation. The measure is set according to the category of the breach, the severity of its consequences, intent and repetition - up to expulsion.

Appeal (cl. 10.2-10.3)An appeal is filed in writing with the Appeals Commission within 10 working days of being informed of the decision. Review by the same panel is not allowed where it would cast doubt on the impartiality of the reconsideration.
