Plagiarism — using another person's text in whole or in part without proper attribution — is a serious ethical offense entailing academic and disciplinary measures in accordance with the institution's procedures. Checking is mandatory for EsU students' master's theses (projects) and diploma works (projects): it is carried out without exception by a commission using an online anti-plagiarism system. antiplagiat.ru.

*Procedure

How the thesis review process works

01The thesis is reviewed and signed by the compliance reviewer, the academic supervisor, and the head of the department, and is then sent to the dean's office for review.
02Take the completed work, in electronic and printed form, to your dean's office system operator (deputy dean) and sign a statement of originality. The check takes 2 to 5 days.
03The operator verifies that the electronic and printed versions are identical. If discrepancies are found, you will be notified and given 24 hours to make corrections (no more than two revisions within those 24 hours).
04If the electronic and printed versions match, the paper is uploaded to antiplagiat.ru for plagiarism checking; two similarity reports are generated — a full one and a summary.
05The system operator at the dean's office or your academic supervisor at the department will notify you of the results. If the work is admitted to defense, the protocols signed by the commission and the similarity reports are attached to it.

The final decision on admitting the work to defense, rejecting it, or requiring corrections/revisions is made by the Anti-Plagiarism Commission.
