About the university

Esil University is a modern leading university of the capital, Central and Northern Kazakhstan, possessing high intellectual potential, a good image and its own style of work, formed over more than twenty years of development history.

The main goal of Esil University is to train competitive, highly qualified specialists — successful individuals for the «smart economy» and progressive entrepreneurial activity, by creating an effective system of education based on the integration of the educational and research processes. Studies at the university are delivered at three levels (bachelor's degree, master's degree, PhD studies) in the state and Russian languages, on the basis of state educational grants, grants of local executive bodies, and on a contractual basis. Specialists are trained on the basis of secondary education, technical and vocational education, and higher education.

University history

In July 1999, a branch of the Kazakh State Academy of Management was established in the city of Astana. As a result of rebranding, it was renamed the branch of the T. Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University. Pursuant to Order No. 679 of the Committee for Supervision and Attestation in the Sphere of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 14 September 2006, the Kazakh University of Economics, Finance and International Trade (KazUEFMT) was relocated to the capital and merged with the branch of the T. Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University. Subsequently, the university acquired the status of an independent educational institution and was renamed the educational institution «Kazakh University of Economics, Finance and International Trade».

Since May 2021, the founder of the university has been AS-Education LLP, and the university was renamed the institution «Esil University», which brought about a rebranding process that included a set of measures to change the name, logo, slogan and visual identity, contributing to the adjustment of the new image in accordance with the developing strategy and to the effective involvement of business representatives in the academic activity of the university.

The university has

• a canteen with 250 seats;
• a modern hotel-type dormitory for students with 240 places;
• a library, which includes a lending desk and 5 reading rooms.

Over 60% of the teaching staff hold academic degrees.
