For students of groups B-St-24/1 R and B-St-24/1 K, a guest lecture was held on the topic "The Process of Forming Official Statistics." The lecture was delivered by Argynbayev Ualikhan, Head of the Department for Working with Statistical Information Users.
During the lecture, the speaker elaborated in detail on the system of state statistics, its role in managing the socio-economic development of the country, and the significance of reliable statistical data for managerial decision-making. The main stages of the formation of official statistics were examined: the collection of primary data, their processing, analysis, and subsequent publication.
Special attention was given to modern methods of data collection, including the digitalization of statistical processes and the use of information systems and online platforms. The lecturer also emphasized the importance of adhering to the principles of confidentiality and objectivity when working with statistical data.
Students familiarised themselves with the practical aspects of the activities of statistical bodies, learned about interactions with respondents and users of statistical information, as well as about the opportunities to apply the acquired knowledge in future professional activities.
At the conclusion of the lecture, a question-and-answer session was held, during which students were able to ask questions of interest to them and receive comprehensive answers from the specialist.
