Student survey on teaching quality: results

About the survey

The survey ran from 17 April to 16 May 2026 as part of the university's internal quality assurance system. 934 of the 4,595 students covered took part — 20% of the target audience. The questionnaire had 32 questions grouped into six themes: organisation of teaching, teaching methods, independent study, assessment, classroom interaction, and overall perception of teaching quality.

Key results

The institutional average is 4.31 out of 5.0. The highest scores went to organisation of teaching, teaching methods and overall teaching quality. Assessment scored more cautiously than the other themes, so the university will focus on clearer criteria, timely feedback and better communication about how knowledge is assessed.

79.6% of students rate teaching quality as good or excellent. 78.3% positively rated how much their courses contribute to intended learning outcomes.

Organisation of teaching — 4.34

Students rated clarity of explanations, availability of materials and their timely posting in the LMS positively. The strongest point is the sufficiency of learning materials — 81.5% positive. Students would like course goals and expected outcomes explained in more detail at the start of a course.

Teaching methods — 4.34

Over 79% of students positively rated the use of examples, the link between theory and practice, and the effectiveness of teaching methods. There is room for wider use of case assignments, project work, discussions, small-group work and digital learning tools.

Independent study — 4.32

Most students positively rate how independent-study assignments relate to course topics, the clarity of requirements, deadlines and feedback. 44% find the overall volume of assignments high, so planning should account for the combined workload across all courses in a semester.

Assessment — 4.25

A positive result, though more reserved than other themes: assessment is directly tied to how students understand requirements and final results. Criteria, assignment weights, assessment deadlines and feedback procedures should be explained in more detail at the start of a course.

Classroom interaction — 4.28

Students positively rate the opportunity to ask questions, join discussions and work in a supportive atmosphere. That atmosphere is what determines how comfortable students feel discussing difficult topics and engaging with their studies.

Conclusions and next steps

The university average is 4.31 out of 5.0, and nearly eight in ten students rated teaching quality as good or excellent. The strengths are availability of materials, clarity of explanations, the link between study and practice, and classroom interaction.
