The University hosted an international scientific and practical conference on the theme "The Principle of 'Law and Order': State and Prospects for the Development of Criminal Procedure in Kazakhstan," organised by the Department of Law. The event was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor Bakhtiyar Tulegenovitch Buleuliev.
The conference was attended by deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of law enforcement and judicial bodies, academic lawyers and legal scholars, advocates, and students. Participants discussed topical issues relating to criminal procedure, the institution of jury trials, and the role of investigative judges.
Within the framework of the plenary session, domestic and international experts delivered welcoming remarks and academic presentations. Particular attention was devoted to the presentation of the second edition of the monograph by Bakhtiyar Buleuliev, "The New Criminal Procedure of Kazakhstan: Towards Investigative Judges and Jury Courts. Current State and Prospects," which reflects the results of the author's many years of scholarly research and practical experience.
The work of the conference continued in sectional sessions. During the discussions, key issues of criminal proceedings were examined and proposals for their improvement were developed, aimed at strengthening the rule of law and protecting the rights of citizens.
At the conclusion of the conference, participants noted its significance for the development of legal science and law enforcement practice in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
