Esil University Held an Educational Session on ‘Reading Intuition: Choice and Recognition’

The library of Esil University hosted an educational session in an unconventional format as part of "Book Day." First-year students (Russian-language group) of the "Management" specialization participated in a Kazakh language class organized in the format of a "Book Club." The event was conducted by the Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Social Sciences, PhD Kuralay Kabdeshova.

During the class hour, students exchanged opinions on works of fiction they had read and were familiar with. Interactive assignments generated particular interest: participants came dressed as their favourite literary characters and, by describing them, invited others to guess the literary work.

Additionally, students concealed the covers of the books they had brought and described their contents, while the remaining participants attempted to identify the title from the description. These tasks contributed to the development of reading intuition, a deeper understanding of the text, and the cultivation of oral communication skills in the Kazakh language.

As a result of the event, students developed a heightened interest in reading, as well as enhanced skills in analysis, critical thinking, and reasoned expression. The "Book Club" format created favourable conditions for free communication and the effective practical use of the Kazakh language.
