As part of Statistics Week at the Department of Accounting and Audit at Esil University, a round table was held on the theme: "Analysis of the Demographic Development of Kazakhstan and Its Regions, as well as Population Projections to 2050."
The event was organised by Zhanat Oralbekova, Master's degree holder and lecturer at the Department of Accounting and Audit, Esil University.
The purpose of the event was to discuss current issues of demographic policy, the impact of the demographic transition on the country's socio-economic development, and to familiarise students with methods of population forecasting. Particular attention was devoted to long-term forecasts of demographic processes prepared by experts on the basis of analytical data.
The keynote address was delivered by Yuriy Shokamanov, Professor of the Department of Accounting, Audit, and Statistics at Almaty University of Humanities and Economics (AUHE). In his presentation, he provided an analytical overview of demographic change dynamics in Kazakhstan, highlighted regional disparities in population growth and decline rates, and identified the key challenges associated with ensuring demographic sustainability.
В рамках мероприятия студенты учебных групп Б-УиА-22/1Р, Б-Ст-24/1Р, Б-Ст-24/1Қ, Б-Ст-23/1Қ, УиА-24/1Р приняли участие в тематической викторине, где продемонстрировали знания по актуальным демографическим показателям, включая численность населения Казахстана на 2024 год, регионы с наивысшим уровнем рождаемости, а также области с наибольшим приростом населения за последние 10 лет.
