A round table on the topic "Social Statistics: Income and Poverty" was held for students of groups B-St-25/1 R, B-St-25/1 R, B-St-24/1 R, and B-St-24/1 K. Dinara served as the moderator of the event Смагулова - chief specialist of the Trade Statistics Department.
The objective of the round table was to discuss topical issues of social statistics related to the analysis of population income, poverty levels, and social inequality, as well as to develop proposals for improving social policy.
Participants noted that income is the most essential indicator of the standard of living. Indicators such as per capita and median income, as well as the income structure of the population, were examined. Particular attention was devoted to disparities in income among various social groups.
Approaches to defining poverty were discussed, including absolute and relative poverty. Participants emphasized the importance of correctly determining the minimum subsistence level and its impact on social policy.
Significant disparities in income and poverty levels have been identified between urban and rural areas, as well as between regions.
The round table demonstrated the high relevance of income and poverty issues in contemporary conditions. Participants emphasised the need for a comprehensive approach to addressing these matters, encompassing both economic and social measures.
