A.A. Nauryzbayeva, a lecturer of the Department of Economics and Marketing, conducted an advisory hour with the second-year groups B DM 24/1 and B DM 25/23 on the topic "Identifying Signs of Financial Pyramids and Internet Fraud."
Students familiarized themselves with the key areas: - the concept of financial pyramids and internet fraud; - the main signs of fraudulent schemes; – types of online fraud (fake investments, phishing, counterfeit stores, account hacking); - methods for verifying information and financial proposals; — rules of safe behavior on the internet.
During the tutorial session, students discussed how to distinguish a financial pyramid from a legitimate project, the promises most commonly employed by fraudsters, the risks of participation in dubious investments, the appropriate course of action when encountering internet fraud, as well as the significance of financial and digital literacy for students.
Special attention was devoted to developing critical thinking when working with financial offers, cultivating source verification skills, and fostering personal responsibility for the security of one's own data and financial assets.
