As part of Statistics Week, on 7 April 2026, the Department of Accounting and Audit hosted an academic and methodological seminar on the topic: "Methods of Statistical Analysis of an Organization's Financial Statements." The report was delivered by Uspambayeva Madina Karabayevna.
The event was attended by lecturers of the Department of Accounting and Audit — Bekzhanova T.K., Altynbekov M.A., Shayakhmetova K.O., Aitkhоzhina A.E., Uspambayeva M.K., Askarova T.M. — and third-year students of the Educational Programmes "Statistics" and "Accounting and Audit."
The event was aimed at improving the quality of training for specialists in the field of statistics, as well as enhancing the methodological support of the educational process. The seminar was attended by the faculty's academic and teaching staff, as well as students enrolled in the Statistics educational programme.
The seminar addressed current issues regarding the application of statistical methods in analysing the financial statements of organisations. Particular attention was given to the use of descriptive statistics, index analysis, correlation-regression, and factor analysis methods for evaluating the financial condition of economic entities. Participants discussed the possibilities of applying modern digital tools and technologies in processing and interpreting financial data.
The practical portion of the seminar enabled participants to consolidate the knowledge gained through the analysis of real data, thereby fostering the development of analytical competencies and skills in working with financial information.
