"Life Without Barriers" Training at Esil University: Building Confidence and an Inclusive Environment

A training session on the topic "Life without Barriers" was conducted for students by Zhakupova G.Kh., Director of the Inclusive Education Centre at Esil University.

The event was aimed at developing self-confidence, fostering respectful attitudes, and supporting the social engagement of students, as well as creating a comfortable and safe educational environment.

The following tasks were addressed during the training:

  • development of a culture of mutual assistance and support;
  • Development of positive thinking;
  • development of communication skills;
  • strengthening the sense of belonging to the university community.

The training was conducted in a discussion format incorporating interactive exercises. At the beginning of the session, participants were offered a motivational framework: "The strength of a person lies in their aspiration to move forward" . Special attention was paid to the idea of the uniqueness of each individual, their potential and significance.

The programme included:

  • Exercise "Continue the Phrase", aimed at fostering awareness of personal achievements and goals;
  • discussion of overcoming difficulties and the role of support;
  • The "Compliment to a Friend" exercise, promoting the development of friendly communication;
  • creative task "My Goal";
  • viewing motivational video material featuring the story of Nick Vujicic;
  • survey of participants.

During the meeting, participants noted the importance of the ability to identify one's strengths, set goals, and outline steps to achieve them. The training contributed to building self-confidence, developing communication skills, and fostering a positive attitude towards personal growth.

The event took place in an atmosphere of open dialogue, mutual respect, and support, which allowed each participant to express their opinion and feel part of a unified student community.
