At Esil University, the importance of academic integrity and professional responsibility of students enrolled in the Digital Marketing educational programme was discussed.
Lecturers of the Department of "Economics and Marketing," Shaimerdenova Aigul Kairzhanovna and Bazarov Alexei Valentinovich, conducted a tutor hour on the topic of "Academic Integrity" for their respective tutor groups.
During the meeting, the tutors emphasised the importance of academic integrity as a fundamental principle underpinning educational and research activities. This principle presupposes honest, fair, and responsible conduct on the part of all participants in the educational process — from students to academic staff and researchers. It reflects respect for intellectual labour, the aspiration toward conscientious acquisition of knowledge, and acknowledgement of personal responsibility for the outcomes of one's own learning.
The main forms of violation of academic ethics were examined:
Plagiarism — the use of others' ideas or texts without proper attribution of the source;
Plagiarism (cheating) — the use of others' solutions or answers when completing assignments and examinations;
Provision of false information — the submission of inaccurate information regarding one's own achievements or research findings.
The advisors also addressed issues of student discipline and conduct at the university, as well as appearance.
In conclusion, students were reminded that adhering to the principles of academic integrity is not merely an internal rule of Esil University, but also an important element in forming the professional reputation, trustworthiness, and ethical maturity of future specialists.
