The ceremonial opening of the Department of Accounting and Audit Week, dedicated to the "Statistics" educational programme, took place. The event is aimed at developing the professional competencies of students, strengthening ties with relevant organisations, and improving the quality of the educational process.
On the first day of the Department of Accounting and Audit Week, an engaging and informative guest lecture was held with the participation of representatives from the Department of the Bureau of National Statistics for the city of Astana — B.S. Akymbekova (Head of the Department of Labour Statistics and Living Standards) and S.A. Turukpayeva (Chief Specialist of the Statistics Department). The meeting took place in a warm and professional atmosphere, generating genuine interest among students.
Speakers shared insights on contemporary trends in the development of statistics, practical experience in the application of data processing and analysis methods, and highlighted the significance of state statistics in management decision-making processes. Participants actively posed questions and discussed topics pertinent to their future professional activities. The lecture served as an excellent opportunity for students to familiarise themselves with real-world practice and acquire valuable knowledge from industry specialists. Students showed particular interest in the practical aspects of working in the field of statistics, including the use of modern digital tools and analytical platforms. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions of interest and discuss prospects for professional development in this field.
The conduct of such events facilitates the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, as well as the development of students' sustained skills in analytical thinking and working with data. The Department of Accounting and Audit Week will continue its work with a series of scientific, educational, and practice-oriented events aimed at the comprehensive development of students and master's students.
