Educational Program: ‘Accounting and Auditing’ (Bachelor’s)

Goal and objectives of the educational program: Forming a highly educated individual capable of professional growth and mobility, possessing key and professional competencies in accounting and auditing, and able to solve professional tasks in various sectors of the economy.

In order to implement the strategy of ‘Esil University’ as a leading applied university of Kazakhstan and the Central Asian region, the Department of Accounting and Auditing provides educational services by implementing the best practices of modern leaders in educational activity; practice orientation based on employer needs and ensuring graduate employment; and runs a student exchange and double-degree program with Kangnam University (Kangnam, South Korea) and European University (Switzerland). Student training is conducted using the computer programs 1C Accounting 8.3, Expert audit, SONO + SQL, Python, etc.

 The fields of professional activity are government bodies, organizations of all forms of ownership, management bodies of state regulation of the economy in the elements of market infrastructure, and research organizations.

Goal and objectives of the educational program: training highly qualified, competent, and labor-market-demanded broad-profile specialists in financial, management, and tax accounting, analysis, and auditing; with a competency-based approach to conducting research in the methodology of accounting, applied analysis, and auditing; knowledgeable in the unification and transformation of domestic accounting in accordance with international standards.

The educational program is designed to:

• implement the principles of practice-oriented education management,
• expand the boundaries of academic freedom to acquire professional knowledge in accounting, auditing, and analysis;
• ensure that the qualification obtained adapts to labor market needs and employer requirements;

- to form a competency-based model for training specialists in accounting, auditing, and analysis, aimed at performing specific professional functions.

- to form in students competencies in organizing accounting at business entities in accordance with international financial reporting standards, organizing and planning analytical work to use analysis results in business management, describing and critically interpreting the main business processes of the audited entity, identifying the main business risks of the audited entity, and developing adequate management decisions.

• state government bodies (ministries and agencies, the Tax Committee, the Internal State Audit Committee of the Ministry of Finance (ISAC) and its territorial bodies (TISA) for internal audit, as well as audit commissions at the local level).

Main objective

Developing in doctoral students the personal qualities that contribute to the growth of their professional competencies, allowing the graduate to be practice-oriented in accounting, auditing, and analysis and consistently in demand in the labor market of relevant enterprises and organizations, and to have applied professional skills.

Training highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel — Doctors of Philosophy (PhD) in accounting and auditing — with deep theoretical knowledge, research competencies, and the ability to develop original scientific solutions applicable in science, public administration, and professional practice.

Graduate employment locations:A graduate of the educational program is in demand at: state statistical bodies at the national and territorial levels: the Bureau of National Statistics, regional statistical departments, district information-computing centers, city statistics offices, and educational institutions; state and local government bodies; organizations of the banking and insurance sectors of the economy, internal affairs bodies, customs authorities; investment and pension funds.

Goal and Objectives of Programs 7M05401, 7M05402 ‘Statistics’: Training highly qualified specialists for all sectors of the national economy and the service sector, able to carry out in-depth professional activity in processing statistical data; forming the main professional competencies in future specialists — masters of economic sciences (in statistics); creating prerequisites for master’s students’ independent research activity within pedagogical and research practice; the ability to work with scientific-technical information, use domestic and foreign experience in professional activity, and systematize and generalize the information obtained.

Advantages of the educational program: Academic mobility — academic exchange between universities in Kazakhstan and abroad (G.V. Plekhanov Russian University of Economics). Dual training—centralized and territorial study of economic data (close ties with practice bases — the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of Kazakhstan, the Department of the Bureau of National Statistics for Astana, and enterprises and organizations of all forms of ownership). In Kazakhstan, only Esil University holds a license for this program.
