Overview, mission and study tracks of the department.

General Information

The Department of Social Sciences and Humanities of Esil University was established by the rector's order No. 01-29/50 in July 2020, on the basis of merging two departments: "Kazakh and Foreign Languages" and "General Education Disciplines." The development concept of the SSH Department is determined by the modern specifics of the educational-methodological, scientific-research, and educational processes of higher education, oriented toward training highly qualified personnel. 

Department vision: An important aspect of the department's activity is the humanization of the educational process, since a graduate of Esil University must possess not only a high level of theoretical and practical competencies, but also positive personal qualities, a humanistic worldview, and the skills of scientific inquiry and the practical solution of current problems.

Mission of the department: Instilling knowledge in students and forming competencies, skills of independent work and scientific research, ensuring continuous and fundamental education, introducing new educational technologies into the learning process and developing thinking skills, as well as the ability to think strategically and creatively

Department objective: raising the level of socio-cultural development of students' personalities, their acquisition of professional terminology and the moral foundations of professional activity.

Main objectives of the department:

– educational and methodological support of the educational process;

– organizational and methodological work;

- research work of the teaching staff;

- conducting joint scientific research with the involvement of students;

– introduction of innovative technologies ensuring the identification and development of students' creative potential;;

- educational work with students.

The educational and methodological work of the department is aimed at providing the educational process with educational and methodological documentation, improving the pedagogical skills of teachers, enhancing the classroom and independent work of students, and improving all forms, types, and methods of educational work, taking into account the needs of the enterprises, organizations, and institutions for which the university trains specialists.

Since July 2023, the department has been headed by acting associate professor, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Yunisov Yersin Abikulovich.

The staff contributes to the successful functioning of educational programs in the areas of student training in accordance with the priorities of the University, the faculty, and the department. The teaching staff of the department consists of 32 people with extensive experience in scientific and teaching activities, including: 1 Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, professor; 3 associate professors, 4 PhD doctors, 1 Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, 5 Candidates of Philological Sciences, 2 Candidates of Historical Sciences, and 16 master's degree holders.

Educational and methodological work is carried out toward improving the organization of students' independent work, integrating the results of the faculty's research activities into the educational process, and developing teaching methodologies for the humanities disciplines. Faculty members of the department actively participate in developing curricula, a pool of lectures, tests, methodological recommendations, and other materials for the disciplines.
