"Golden Hephaestus": a triumph of professionalism and talent in the mining and metallurgical industry. On June 6, 2024, Astana will host the 14th National Mining and Metallurgical Industry Competition "Golden Hephaestus", held annually within the framework of the Astana Mining & Metallurgy (AMM) congress. This event is not just a ceremonial award presentation, but a vivid demonstration of the achievements and dynamic development of Kazakhstan's mining and metallurgical complex. Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) is the permanent partner of the "Golden Hephaestus" industry competition.

Recognition of the work of mining and metallurgical specialists
The mining and metallurgical complex makes up to 10% of Kazakhstan's entire economy. At the same time, only about 277,000 people work in this industry, or about 3% of the country's entire workforce. This makes every employee in the mining and metallurgical complex even more valuable and important, not only for an individual enterprise but for the development of the economy as a whole. Their hard work deserves recognition and high esteem, which is confirmed by such revered awards as the "Golden Hephaestus."
This year is marked by a record number of applicants wishing to take part in the competition. A total of 215 applications were submitted, which is 40% more than last year (2023 — 153 applications). Participants will be awarded in 15 nominations aimed at further increasing the popularity of the mining and metallurgical sector. The nominations will allow participants to demonstrate their professional skills in various areas of the industry, helping to raise the prestige of these professions and inspiring new specialists to grow and excel in the mining and metallurgical complex.
An important element of the 2024 competition will be strengthened interaction between the media and mining and metallurgical companies. Exclusive events specially organized for media representatives will be held within the AMM congress. On June 6, Kazakhstan's leading and industry media will discuss key issues and share experience with the press services of ministries, national companies and major mining and metallurgical organizations at a press breakfast. On June 7, in the Amphitheater zone, the winners of the "Golden Hephaestus" industry competition will share their success stories of participating in the competition, motivating students and young specialists toward greater achievements. Also on the second day of the congress, a PR training session will be held, where experts will discuss a new direction in PR — the National Identity of the mining and metallurgical industry.
"Golden Hephaestus" is not just a competition, but a platform for uniting mining and metallurgical specialists, recognizing their contribution to the development of the industry and inspiring new generations. The competition is organized with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the event's General Partner — ERG (Eurasian Resources Group).

A new feature of this year's competition is the increase in cash prizes in a number of nominations — this motivates media representatives to inform society and young people about the importance of the mining and metallurgical industry, as well as to engage in scientific and research work in this field.
