Esil University strengthens academic ties with KIUT in Tashkent

As part of the implementation of the academic mobility programme, a working visit was undertaken by A.T. Dzhumab­ekova, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, and S.Zh. Yesengeld­inova, Master of Economic Sciences, Senior Lecturer, of the Department of Finance, Faculty of Business and Management, Esil University, to the city of Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan), Tashkent International University "KIUT," in the period from 12 to 18 April 2026.

KIUT represents the practical outcome of cooperation between the governments of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea in the sphere of technology transfer and the introduction of innovations into the educational system. The goal of the academic mobility programme was the development of international scientific and educational cooperation, the exchange of experience in the field of teaching financial disciplines, and the enhancement of the quality of the educational process.

The Department of Finance implements undergraduate educational programmes in the field of "Finance," as well as in "Public Finance" and "Corporate Finance." The Head of the Department is PhD, Professor Zedilloyev Khushnud Rakhimboyevich. Among the leading faculty members of the department are PhD Ismailova Kutlibeka Ulugbek kyzy, Satoriy Fayzullokh Abdijabbor ugli, and Mirsobitov Mirzied.

The faculty was also represented by Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Khamidova Faridakhon Abdukarimovna, who spoke about KIUT University, the mission of the Department of Finance, and the distinctive features of the educational programs. Within the framework of the meeting, an opportunity was provided to present students with information about the educational activities of Esil University.

This was the first meeting with the university's students, during which the participants showed great interest in information about the city of Astana, actively asked questions, and carefully familiarised themselves with the educational programmes, fields of study, and features of the educational process at Esil University.

As part of the visit, lecture sessions on the discipline of "Public Finance" were conducted for students of the host university. The sessions addressed current issues of budgetary policy, the formation of financial markets, and contemporary trends in the development of public finance.

During the visit, lectures on the discipline "Public Finance" were delivered, covering topics such as the public finance system, the role and significance of finance in the social development of society, banks and non-credit organizations in the financial market, public financial control, the finances of state enterprises, as well as public credit and public debt management.

Classes were conducted using modern educational technologies, presentation materials, analytical data, and practice-oriented examples. Special attention was devoted to a comparative analysis of the financial systems of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Students were presented with souvenir stickers featuring the Esil University emblem. The students demonstrated high engagement, actively participated in discussions, and expressed interest in Kazakhstan's experience in the field of public finance.

Of particular interest to students and faculty were the activities of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) and the innovative solutions of Kaspi.kz, including mobile payments, online lending, a marketplace, QR payments, and the application of artificial intelligence in financial services.

During the discussions, students actively raised questions regarding the Compulsory Social Health Insurance (CSHI) system, the Damumed and eGov mobile applications, the tax system of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the mechanisms of state regulation of the financial market.

Students of the Finance educational programme expressed interest in participating in the academic mobility programme and visiting Esil University in order to become acquainted with the educational process and to expand international cooperation.

During the programme, participants attended colleagues' classes and conducted joint lectures on the disciplines "Taxes and Taxation" and "Islamic Banking," which provided an opportunity to become acquainted with teaching methodologies and educational technologies.

Working meetings were held with the faculty, during which the prospects for joint scientific research, academic exchange of students and faculty members, and the development of scientific and educational cooperation were discussed.

As a token of strengthening the partnership, the host party was presented with souvenir and promotional products of Esil University.

A meeting was also held with Tursunov Abdubori Abduvahabovich, Director of the Department of Innovative Products at JSC "HAYOT BANK," during which a lecture was delivered on contemporary Islamic financial products and the prospects for the development of Islamic banking. The principles of Sharia-compliant financing and practical aspects of implementing Islamic financial instruments were discussed.

During the visit, faculty members participated in the Job Fair and Open Day, which provided an opportunity to study the university's interaction with employers, assess the employability of graduates, and familiarise themselves with the educational infrastructure of KIUT. The university implements more than 70 undergraduate and graduate educational programmes covering medicine, pedagogy, business, engineering, and the arts. Instruction is delivered in Uzbek, Russian, and English.

The faculty of Esil University were also invited to Fashion Day, where collections created by students as part of their creative projects were presented.

At the conclusion of the visit, a meeting was held with the Head of the International Department, Elmurodov Shokhzhakhon Gayratuly, during which the outcomes of the trip were summarised and prospects for further cooperation were discussed.

Following the academic mobility programme, professional contacts were established, and directions for further interaction were outlined, including the exchange of experience, the holding of joint events, and the development of academic ties. Certificates were presented to programme participants.

Thus, the academic mobility programme at the Tashkent International University KIUT contributed to the strengthening of international cooperation, the exchange of professional experience, and the expansion of academic ties between educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
