Experts Presented New Approaches to Violence Prevention

In the city of Astana, at the building of the United Nations, a round table was held dedicated to the integration of the educational module "Prevention and Response to Gender-Based and Domestic Violence with Consideration of the Special Needs of Persons with Disabilities" into social worker training programmes.

The event was held within the framework of the adaptation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) being implemented in Kazakhstan since 2016 with the support of UNFPA. Special attention is given to ensuring the accessibility of assistance for persons with disabilities.

Experts Presented New Approaches to Violence Prevention

Within the framework of the round table, there was a discussion of the educational module "Prevention of and Response to Gender-Based and Domestic Violence Taking into Account the Special Needs of Persons with Disabilities," as well as ways to further integrate it into educational programs for training social workers under the "Social Work" curricula at higher education institutions in Kazakhstan.

Representing our university from the Department of Social Work and Tourism were Ph.D. in Pedagogy, Associate Professor Burganova R.I. and Head of the Educational Programme "Social Work" Adebietova A.E.
