From November 14 to 17, at a powerlifting competition in Moscow among athletes from 40 countries, Kazakhstan was represented by Esil University student Nurgazin Kambar, who took 1st place.
The champion was welcomed at the airport by Esil University instructors Saken Talikbaevich, Zhalgas Baimbetovich, and university activists.
Rector of Esil University Ayapbergen Aldanayevich personally congratulated the champion and noted that a tuition discount had been provided for him.
"Of course, we are delighted that an athlete of world-class calibre such as Kambar is graduating from our university, and we are always ready to offer our support. We hope that this achievement will serve as an example for other students. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the grandmother who raised Kambar," said the rector.
"Since this morning, the university staff have been welcoming my grandson in an organised manner. I am very happy. I always tell my grandson to raise the flag of this university even higher and to make a name for himself. The future is in your hands, youth!" — Grandmother Kambara Markhamat Nurgazina expressed her gratitude to the university staff.
