On April 16, the XVII Republican Student Subject Olympiad in the "Social Work" educational programme was held in Almaty at the NAO "NARXOZ University" among student teams. First-year students of the Social Work department of our institution, Esil University, participated in the Olympiad.
Under the terms of the olympiad, teams from the country's leading universities were required in the first stage to present a video about their choice of profession on the theme "Social Justice"; in the second stage, during the Project Competition, students were required to present and defend presentations of social projects on the theme "CURRENT SOCIAL PROBLEM."
Our students proved to be the youngest participants in the olympiad; however, this did not prevent them from performing admirably and affirming the university's standing. They claimed first place in the "Best Social Project" category, receiving the highest scores and recognition from the audience. In the overall standings, the team finished in third prize position.
According to the team members, the olympiad left them with vivid impressions.
"I was impressed by the friendly atmosphere of the olympiad and the way the organisers welcomed us. It was not only an interesting experience but also an opportunity to test our knowledge and abilities. Our team spent a great deal of time together, worked productively, and as a result developed a strong team spirit. Most importantly, we successfully accomplished our mission, returned with prize-winning positions, and upheld the academic standing and intellectual strength of our university."
