As part of the celebration of Book Day, Russian language instructors of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, Uskenbaeva S.T. and Khokhlunova V.A., conducted an educational event for students of the Statistics specialization.
The meeting was opened by the Director of the Scientific Library of Esil University, Sayran Yelbayevna Mustafina. Her address was distinguished by a high degree of professionalism, accessibility of presentation, and practical relevance. She not only provided a detailed account of the resources available through the university's electronic library, but also succeeded in engaging the interest of students by demonstrating how effectively modern digital resources can be utilised in academic and research activities.
In the second part of the event, faculty members organized a literary quiz aimed at fostering interest in reading and broadening students' horizons. The questions covered works of Russian, Kazakh, and foreign literature. Participants actively engaged in the tasks, demonstrating broad erudition, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to work effectively as a team.
Students were particularly engaged by tasks requiring the identification of literary works through quotations and characters, as well as creative rounds demanding non-standard thinking. The event contributed not only to the consolidation of knowledge, but also to fostering a sustained interest in reading and the development of critical thinking and communication skills.
At the conclusion of the event, the results of the quiz were summarised and the most active participants were recognised. Such events play an important role in shaping the cultural and educational environment of the university, uniting students and faculty around the values of books and knowledge.
