On 2 September 2024, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev delivered an address to the people of Kazakhstan at the joint session of the chambers of Parliament. The faculty and students of Esil University listened to the President's address "A Fair Kazakhstan: Law and Order, Economic Growth, Public Optimism."
The Address of the Head of State Defined the Future Development of the Country and a Turn Toward Tomorrow. This is of great importance for the development of all sectors and for the fate of the country. The new Address, dedicated to resolving the pressing issues of every citizen of the Kazakh people, demonstrated that the development of the country and the lives of our people will be marked by numerous innovations. The Presidential Address highlighted issues pertaining to the prospects of the country's political and socio-economic development. Congratulating the opening of the next session, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that the previous session had been highly productive; in particular, 102 laws were adopted, including laws concerning public oversight and combating human trafficking, and laws regulating science and technology policy, heat energy, and other matters entered into force.
The Address devoted particular attention to matters related to the reform of the education system and the strengthening of human resource capacity. The President highlighted the significance of 2025, which is to be declared the Year of Working Professions, and emphasized the need to reform the technical and vocational education system as a whole. These measures are aimed at promoting the values of diligence and professionalism within society.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that teachers play a pivotal role in the development of the nation. The reform of professional education is of critical importance for ensuring economic growth and increasing investment attractiveness. The President stressed the need to attract talented youth to pedagogical universities and to continue measures aimed at enhancing the qualifications and status of educators.
"Teachers constitute the intellectual vanguard of the nation, laying the foundation for its long-term progress. We may possess the finest educational programmes and modern schools, but without qualified and motivated educators, success is impossible. It is therefore necessary to focus attention on attracting purposeful young people to pedagogical universities and to continue strengthening their professional status. A positive dynamic in this direction is already evident, and it is now important to consolidate it," — noted the President.
The Address is currently being widely discussed and supported across all territories of our state in the managerial, educational, and production spheres, as well as in non-governmental organizations. The Head of State reminded citizens that where there is unity, there is life, and as the central point of his Address, he called upon the citizens of the country to serve our nation with honesty, engage in honourable labour, acquire deep knowledge, and work with diligence.
