During the event, academic advisors explained to students the concept of academic integrity, emphasizing that it encompasses honesty in completing written and research assignments (coursework, examinations, essays, and thesis projects), independence in expressing one's own position, adherence to ethical norms in communication with faculty members and classmates, as well as honesty in the knowledge assessment process.
Students were presented with the normative regulation "On Academic Integrity of Students and Staff of Esil University." This document was developed in accordance with the university's development strategy and defines the principles of academic honesty, the rights and obligations of students, types of violations of academic integrity, and the procedures for applying disciplinary measures.
The primary objective of the tutor hour is to cultivate among students a conscious attitude towards honesty and trust in the educational process, as well as an understanding of the importance of personal responsibility in learning.
The following issues were discussed during the meeting:
• the concept of corruption and its negative consequences for society and the individual;
• The role of each student in shaping an anti-corruption culture;
• methods of combating corruption and the importance of adhering to ethical standards in education.
It was noted that corruption is not only a violation of the law but also a serious impediment to the development of society, undermining the principles of justice and trust. Every student must be aware of their personal responsibility and contribute to the formation of a culture of integrity and intolerance towards manifestations of corruption.
The significance of academic integrity is as follows:
• promotes the development of personal integrity and responsibility;
• helps strengthen ethical and moral values;
• fosters an atmosphere of trust and fairness within the university.
