The Curator Session ‘Nauryz — The Start of the Year’ Was Held at Esil University

B Esil A curators' hour was held at the University with students of Group B-ST-25/1 K of the Statistics educational programme, led by Curator Askarova T.M., dedicated to the Nauryz holiday on the theme "Nauryz Zhyl Basy" (Nauryz — the Beginning of the Year).

The event was attended by academic staff of the department: Bekzhanova T.K., Shayakhmetova K.O., Altynbekov M.A., Aitkhozhin A.E., as well as the Dean for Educational Affairs Shynar Kungeldikyzy and Vice-Dean Togzhan Maratovna.

The Curator Session ‘Nauryz — The Start of the Year’ Was Held at Esil University

With the aim of fostering respect among students for the national traditions and culture of the Kazakh people, an open lesson dedicated to the Nauryz holiday was held.

The purpose of the event is to familiarise students with the history and significance of the Nauryz holiday, to develop interest in national customs, and to foster a sense of patriotism and respect for the cultural heritage of the people.

During the open lesson, students learned about the history of the Nauryz holiday and the traditions of its celebration, including the preparation of Nauryz kozhe, the conduct of national games, the receiving of blessings (bata), and the expression of Kazakh hospitality. Teachers explained the significance of this holiday as a symbol of the renewal of nature, friendship, and the unity of the people.

As part of the event, poems, songs, and short theatrical sketches dedicated to the holiday were presented. Students actively participated in a quiz, demonstrated their knowledge of national traditions, and performed folk songs and dances. A small exhibition of national artefacts and traditional dishes was also organized.
