A Round Table on ‘The Future of Statistics: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning’ Was Held at Esil University

As part of the Statistics Week, on April 8, a round table was held at the Department of Accounting and Audit on the topic: "The Future of Statistics: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning."

The round table was attended by faculty members of the Department of Accounting and Audit at Esil University: Candidate of Economic Sciences, Acting Professor T.K. Bekzhanova; Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor M.K. Aliyev; Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor M.A. Abdurakhymanov; PhD, Acting Professor M.A. Altynbekov; Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor L.Zh. Aitkhozina; PhD, Senior Lecturer M.K. Uspambayeva; and PhD, Senior Lecturer K.Ye. Sharipbekova. The event was organized by A.Ye. Aitkhozina — Master's degree holder, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Accounting and Audit at Esil University, and I.N. Mikhaylina — Master's degree holder, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Accounting and Audit at Esil University.

Within the framework of this event, faculty members and second-year students of the Faculty of Business and Management, specialisations of Accounting and Audit and Finance, delivered presentations; key areas of the influence of artificial intelligence and machine learning on the development of statistics as a science were discussed. Among those noted were: automation of data analysis, forecasting and modelling, natural language processing and text analysis, improvement of data quality, and ethical and social aspects.

In conclusion, participants noted that artificial intelligence and machine learning are exerting a profound influence on the future of statistics, offering new tools and methods for data analysis. However, it is important to take into account the ethical aspects of their application in order to ensure fairness and transparency in decision-making.
