As part of the Finance Department Week, a guest lecture was organized for students. The department invited Ruslana Ishchanova, Deputy Director of the Central Branch of the National Bank (Astana), PhD, as the guest lecturer.
The topic of the lecture is "The National Currency — the Foundation of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan," dedicated to the significant date of the 30th anniversary of the Kazakhstani currency, the tenge, celebrated in our country on 15 November 2023.
The main topics of the lecture were dedicated to the characteristics of banknotes and coins of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the history of their creation, and their issuance into circulation. Special attention was paid to the achievements of Kazakhstani currency in terms of design, security features, and manufacturing technology. The main awards received by the National Bank of Kazakhstan's banknotes at various world-level exhibitions were noted.
The lecturer introduced participants to collectible and investment coins, explained the technology of their production, the distinctive features of their design, as well as the methods and opportunities for acquisition. A small exhibition of the most renowned and commemorative coins was organized.
During the lecture, demonstration films were shown depicting the operations of the Banknote Factory and the Kazakhstan Mint of the National Bank of the Republic.
Upon completion of the lecture, students posed questions of interest, to which R.K. Ishchanova provided comprehensive and exhaustive answers. As a result, attendees gained valuable information regarding practical steps in the sphere of cash circulation in Kazakhstan, which undoubtedly enriched the professional knowledge of future financiers and bankers.
