Esil University Students Win Prizes at the National Caving Championship

From March 21 to 25, 2026, the Open Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Speleotourism on Artificial Terrain was held in the city of Astana at the Eurasia Sports Complex, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

The competitions were organised by the Department of Tourism of the Faculty of Economics at Eurasian National University in conjunction with the Kazakhstan Federation of Sports Tourism and Tourist All-Round Competition. The championship united combined teams of higher education institutions as well as representatives of cities of national significance and regions of Kazakhstan.

The competitions were held across several age categories and included disciplines requiring high physical fitness, technical skills, and coordinated teamwork.

First- and second-year students of the "Tourism" educational programme at Esil University actively participated in the championship. Following the competition, the university team demonstrated a high level of preparation and claimed prize-winning places:

— 2nd place in the overall standings;

Подготовка студентов осуществлялась магистром, старшим преподавателем кафедры «Социальная работа и туризм» Сәбидолла Е.Д. Также, активную поддержку и подготовку к данным соревнованиям оказал заведующий отдела туризма Центра детско-юношеского туризма и краеведения г. Астана, магистр, старший преподаватель кафедры «Социальная работа и туризм» Кенжегалиев А.А. Благодаря профессиональному руководству и системной подготовке студенты достойно представили университет на республиканском уровне.

Participation in such competitions plays an important role in building the professional competencies of future specialists in the tourism industry. The practice-oriented format of the championship enables students to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, develop endurance, responsibility, and teamwork skills.
