Second-year students of the Educational Programme "Tourism," under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Social Work and Tourism, PhD, Associate Professor Sadykov Zh.A., visited the Centre for the Preservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage Monuments and Sites.
Director of the Centre Manshuk Adiyatovna conducted an informative tour, explaining that the building of the former Muslim school, which now houses the Centre for the Preservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage Monuments and Sites, dates from the late nineteenth century. It is an architectural monument representing one of the unique examples of wooden architecture of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The building is a residential structure constructed as a log cabin adorned with rich carved wooden decoration.
In Astana there are 111 monuments, more than half of which were erected during the years of Kazakhstan's independence, said the Director of the Centre, Manshuk Issayeva.
Centre staff study the technical condition of monuments, carry out ongoing repair and restoration work. Their list is updated and supplemented annually. In this regard, passportization of monuments and cultural heritage sites is conducted, incorporating historical, architectural, and archaeological data, assessments of their significance, survey drawings, and other relevant information.
The Centre for the Preservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage Monuments and Sites, housed within this building, is a structural subdivision of the State Communal Казённое Enterprise "Directorate of United Museums" of the Astana City Akimat. It is engaged in the preservation, restoration, and promotion of the historical and cultural heritage of the city of Astana. To achieve this goal, lectures, guided tours, and thematic events are organised at monuments and memorial complexes of the city for guests and residents of the capital. As part of the meeting, it is planned to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between Esil University and the Centre for the Preservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage Monuments and Sites.
