Modern technologies open up new opportunities, but at the same time increase the risks of fraud. Most commonly, perpetrators exploit social networks such as Telegram, create fake accounts, and request money transfers to third-party cards while impersonating acquaintances or well-known individuals.

Safety Recommendations: • Verify website addresses and links; do not follow suspicious links. • Configure privacy settings on social networks and keep personal and work phone numbers separate. • Use strong passwords and two-factor authentication. • Do not share your CVV/CVC code and SMS codes with third parties. • Do not use open Wi-Fi networks for financial transactions. • In the event of fraud, contact the police or KZ-CERT.

The event emphasised that every person is responsible for their own safety, and that mindfulness and caution are the best means of protection against fraudsters.
