From 18 to 20 November 2024, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor of the Department of Finance Amina Amirjanovna Mussina delivered guest lectures and participated in a roundtable with faculty members at the invitation of the Kyrgyz-European Faculty (KEF) of Kyrgyz National University named after Zh. Balasagyn (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan) under the "Visiting Professor" programme.
Lectures were delivered to second-year students on the discipline "Money, Credit, and Banks" (section "Banks and the Banking System," totalling 8 hours). The lecturer covered questions concerning the emergence of banks, the essence of various types of banking systems, the modification of the functions of first- and second-tier banks, and demonstrated the distinctive features of bank operations using materials from global, Kazakhstani, and Kyrgyz practice.
Special attention was devoted to the distinctive features of banking development in the modern economy, as well as to the shortcomings and achievements in their operations. Statistical data were used to illustrate the dynamics of banking development in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and both positive and negative trends in contemporary banking were identified.
A separate lecture was devoted to commercial banks and their role in the economy. Students engaged with the material with keen interest, asking questions and participating in the exchange of opinions. Upon completion of the lecture series, the lecturer posed review questions, following which the three most active students were presented with branded ESIL University notebooks.
On November 19, 2024, with the participation of Professor Musina A.A., a round table was held on the topic 'Issues of the Banking Systems of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic,' dedicated to the Day of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The objective of the round table was to identify and discuss effective approaches to overcoming challenges in the banking systems of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. In the context of this event, Professor Musina A.A. presented the distinctive features of the banking system of the Republic of Kazakhstan and outlined priorities for the development of banking lending at the current stage. Kyrgyz colleagues expressed interest in discussing the topical issues raised in the report and shared their views on key challenges, which broadly confirmed the commonality of scholars from the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan in seeking rational ways to improve banking activities.
As a result of the roundtable, agreements were reached on further cooperation between the two universities (KNU and ESIL) under the "Visiting Professor" programme, as well as on the exchange of experience at subsequent academic events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Kyrgyz-European Faculty and the 100th anniversary of KNU named after Zh. Balasagyn.
At the conclusion of the event, Professor Kamalova A.K. presented as a gift to Musina A.A. the university textbook "Statistics," published to mark the 100th anniversary of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Oblast, bearing the endorsement of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (edited by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor Kamalova A.K., and Choroev K.).
In turn, Musina A.A. also presented the Faculty of Economics with the textbook "Money. Credit. Banks" (edited by Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Seitkasimov G.S. and Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Musina A.A.).
Dean of the KEF A.K. Kamalova presented A.A. Musina with a certificate signed by the Rector of Kyrgyz National University named after Zh. Balasagyn and a letter of appreciation for the lectures delivered and participation in the academic event.
Such meetings and academic events are highly promising, as they make it possible to broaden the scope of cooperation between partner universities and to leverage mutual experience with the aim of enhancing the quality of the professional level of the scientific-educational process.
