How to Protect Yourself from Stalking: A Meeting with Students

Senior Lecturer of the "Law" Department Maney Khaibar conducted a tutor hour for second- and third-year students of the educational programmes "Jurisprudence," "Business Law," and "EPSB." During the meeting, the concept of stalking, its main characteristics, and legal consequences were examined.

Stalking constitutes systematic persecution, obsessive attention, or control directed at a person without their consent. Such actions may occur both in real life and in the online environment, and are frequently accompanied by psychological pressure and violations of personal boundaries.

Students received recommendations on the protection of personal data, observance of digital security, and the procedure for contacting law enforcement authorities. It was separately noted that, in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, stalking is subject to administrative and criminal liability.

The tutorial hour conducted highlighted the importance of legal literacy and the formation of a safe educational environment at the university.
