A round table was held at Esil University on the topic "The System of Targeted Social Assistance in Kazakhstan: Institutional Environment, Assessment of Current Status, Vectors and Mechanisms of Activation," within the framework of the implementation of Programme BR18574225 (commissioned by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Contract No. 5-PTsF-23-24 dated 25.01.2023).
The main speakers at the Round Table were:
1. Pritvorova Tatyana Petrovna , Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Esil University. In her presentation, the professor described the goals and objectives of the programme, noting that the research methodology was constructed in accordance with best international practices. Tatyana Petrovna presented a profile of the average Kazakhstani family receiving conditional cash assistance, and noted that the regional profile of recipients of targeted social assistance (TSA) is linked to the economic environment and types of demographic behaviour, and that this must be taken into account in developing the TSA system in Kazakhstan.
2. Kenzhebekov Nurzhan Dosovich , Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, RATIONAL SOLUTION LLP. Presenting the mechanism of the Targeted Social Assistance (TSA) in Kazakhstan, Nurzhan Dosovich addressed the main problematic issues of the TSA assignment mechanism, emphasizing the relevance of applying proactive principles in the provision of social assistance in our country.
3. Zhailauov Yerlan Berikovich , PhD, Private Institution "Eurasian Institute for Socio-Economic Research." Yerlan Berikovich presented the preliminary results of an expert survey on the issues of targeted social assistance in the Republic of Kazakhstan and submitted 9 key problems in the functioning of Kazakhstan's targeted social assistance system for discussion.

– Bekmagambetov Alimzhan Baurzhanovich , Deputy Director General of the Republican State Enterprise on the Right of Economic Management "Republican Research Institute of Labour Protection of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan,"
— Nurmagambetova Alma Asharbekovana , Deputy Director of the State Municipal Enterprise "Labour Mobility Centre" of the Akim's Office of Astana City,
– Syzdykpayev Erlan Timurovich , Head of the State Institution "Office of the Akim of Arshalynsky District of Akmola Region",
– Mauina Gulsan Meiramovna , Head of the Branch of the Republican Public Association "Union of Parents of Special Children" in Astana,
– Sarsembayev Nurzhan Berikovich , Chief Specialist of the Employment Coordination and Social Programs Department of the Akimat of Zhambyl Region,
– Abdykalykova Zhanar Nurakhmetovna , head of the branch of the Republican Public Association "National Alliance of Professional Social Workers" in the city of Almaty and Almaty Region.
In their presentations, the experts confirmed the existence of the issues raised for discussion regarding the functioning of the ASP system in Kazakhstan, citing examples from their personal professional practice.
In conclusion, it was noted that the work within the framework of this scientific study will continue in accordance with the results already obtained and taking into account expert opinions, as the next stage of the work involves developing recommendations for improving the system of targeted social assistance in Kazakhstan, achieving positive outcomes for both recipients of such assistance and the state.
