During the event, academic advisors explained the essence of academic integrity, noting that it is founded on the principles of responsibility, fairness, and sincerity in students' academic and scholarly activities. It was explained that academic integrity is a system of values encompassing the independent completion of written and research work, the open expression of one's opinions, and the maintenance of mutual respect and trust between faculty and students.
At the meeting, participants were also acquainted with the normative document of the institution — Esil University's "Regulation on Academic Integrity of Students and Staff." This regulation has been developed in accordance with the university's development strategy and defines the rights and responsibilities of students, the principles of academic integrity, and the measures to be taken in the event of their violation.
The primary objective of the tutor hour was to cultivate in students an attitude towards academic integrity, conscientious work, and a responsible approach to their duties.
During the event, the essence of the concept of corruption and its negative impact on society and the individual were examined, as were the active role of every citizen — including students — in the development of culture, and the importance of observing ethical standards in the educational process.
As the tutor notes, corruption is not merely a violation of the law; it is a social malady that impedes the development of society and the formation of justice and trust. Every student must contribute to the formation of an anti-corruption culture through their personal conduct, conscientious work, and commitment to fairness.
