B Esil University A brainstorming session was conducted on raising the level of legal awareness among first-year students as part of the research work of 4th-year Social Work student Onlabek Symbat.
The research is conducted under the supervision of the academic supervisor, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of "Social Work and Tourism," Burganova R.I.
Student life is not only a period of academic achievement and social self-realisation, but also an important stage in the formation of values and beliefs among student youth. Running through the expanse of the «university corridors» is not only an endless flow of knowledge, but also a subtle thread connecting young people to an understanding of the law. In a world where laws and rules play a key role in public life, the legal consciousness of students becomes the cornerstone of the future society.
The event featured as experts the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Mukhamedzhanova A.A., and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, Baydalina M.E.
The research was conducted in several stages: 1. Theoretical stage — study of the regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan and scientific literature on the research topic; 2. Theoretical and methodological stage — development of diagnostic tools; 3. Practical stage — conducting a mini-survey (online participation by university students: ESU — 65.8%, KazUTB — 2.1%, KazNUI — 2.1%, KazGYU — 4.3%, MUA — 2.1%, KazATU — 2.1%, AIU — 6.5%, SATBAYEV University — 2.1%, and others) and a written survey among first-year students of Esil University, compilation of quantitative and qualitative analysis; conducting interviews with the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science, a lawyer from EsU, faculty members, and students.
In the course of analysing the conducted research, O. Symbat notes that, despite the dynamic results obtained following the Brainstorming session, plans are in place to continue promoting the enhancement of students' legal awareness, and preparations are underway for the publication of a booklet that will serve as an informational guide for students.
