An Off-Site Class at the ‘Poedem’ Travel Agency

Fourth-year students of the Tourism educational programme participated in a field session on the discipline "Business Planning in Tourism." The event was held at the premises of the travel agency "Poyedem" under the supervision of Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Work and Tourism, A.M. Bayandina.

The objective of the lesson was the practical mastery of the principles of business plan development for tourism organizations. The distinctive feature of the session was the opportunity for students to hear real-life cases and recommendations from an industry professional. The session was conducted by Anna Obidnik, Director of the firm "Poyedem," who shared her experience in establishing and developing a successful tourism business.

During the session, students not only learned about the stages of the business planning process but also attempted to develop their own concepts. Anna Obidnik drew particular attention to such key aspects as market analysis, financial model calculation, and risk assessment.

Students were delighted with the rich and productive session. Many noted that this format of instruction helps not only to better understand the subject matter but also to gain motivation for a future career.

The field trip to the travel agency "Poyedem" became an excellent example of fruitful cooperation between the university and the tourism business.
