An Event Dedicated to the Epic Novel ‘The Path of Abai’ Was Held at Esil University

Esil University hosted a thematic event dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet and enlightener Abai Kunanbayev. The event was initiated by senior lecturers of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines — PhD D.K. Ospanova, Candidate of Historical Sciences E.T. Seitov, and Master's degree holder M.E. Baidalina.

The theme of the event was Mukhtar Auezov's celebrated novel-epic "Abai's Path," a work rightly regarded as the pinnacle of Kazakh literary fiction. It is the first large-scale novel written in the Kazakh language, in which the personality of Abai Kunanbayev, his spiritual journey, worldview, and contribution to the development of Kazakh culture are revealed in profound and multifaceted detail.

The event participants discussed the significance of the novel in the history of literature, its artistic characteristics, and its relevance for the younger generation. Excerpts from the work were read aloud, along with the opinions of students and faculty on the influence of Abai's image on national consciousness and culture.

"The Path of Abai" is the first epic novel written in the Kazakh language. The epic is widely known not only within our country but far beyond its borders. The great work describes the life of the Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayev, the founder of Kazakh written literature. The novel-epic consists of four books.
